Privacy policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This privacy policy explains how Road Noise Records Pty Ltd, ABN 57 641 321 502 ("we", "us"), handles your personal information when you visit our event pages, buy tickets, subscribe to a mailing list, or run an artist or label workspace on Sequence (on the web, in the Sequence for Artists iOS app or in the Sequence app for Mac), in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Spam Act 2003.
In short
- Your fan list is yours. We hold it for you, we never market to it, and we never sell it.
- We don't record what you type. Inside your workspace we record which screens you open and where you get stuck, so we can troubleshoot bugs before they interrupt you.
- We use no third-party analytics inside your workspace. Nothing we record about how you use Sequence leaves our own servers, except that we tell Meta when an account is created and when a workspace first pays for Membership (see Cookies and tracking).
- The only advertising tracking is on public pages, and in the EU, EEA and UK we ask before it loads.
- You can export everything and delete your account at any time.
What we collect
When you buy a ticket or subscribe, we collect:
- Your name, email, and (optionally) mobile number and address
- Order and ticket details, including amount paid
- Browser and device information for fraud prevention and analytics
- Anonymous identifiers used to attribute marketing campaigns
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Fulfil your ticket order and deliver entry passes
- Send you transactional emails (receipts, event reminders, changes)
- Send marketing emails about future shows or releases — only if you've given consent (express or inferred from a recent purchase)
- Measure marketing performance and improve future events
When you buy an item a record label sells for one of its artists, the label is the seller, so your order and details go to the label and the box to join its mailing list is ticked unless you untick it. The same checkout can also offer a box, unticked, to join that artist's own mailing list. You are added to the artist's list only if you tick that box, and only once your payment has gone through.
Who we share it with
We use these processors to run the service. Each is a reputable provider with their own privacy commitments. Some are based outside Australia.
- Stripe (United States) — payment processing
- Resend (United States) — email delivery
- Vercel (United States) — website hosting
- Neon (Australia, Sydney region) — database hosting
- Meta Platforms (United States) — when you click a Facebook or Instagram ad, conversion data (with your email hashed before transmission) is shared with Meta to measure ad performance
- Meta Platforms (United States), when an artist connects their own Meta ad account: the artist can choose a group of their fans and have us send it to Meta as a Custom Audience, to show those fans the artist's ads or to find people like them. We send your email, first and last name, city and country, each hashed (SHA-256) before it leaves our servers. We leave out anyone who declined advertising cookies when they signed up, and anyone we know to be in the EU, EEA or UK unless they accepted them. A record label an artist works with can, once the artist agrees, send that artist's fans to the label's own Meta ad account in the same way, hashed the same way and under the same rule.
- Google (United States), YouTube: when an artist connects their channel, the videos they post and their captions go to YouTube.
We do not sell your personal information, and we only share it for marketing in the ways listed above.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe at any time — every email has a one-click link, and we honour the request within 5 business days as required by the Spam Act 2003
- Access the personal information we hold about you — email us and we'll respond within 30 days
- Correct or delete your data on request
- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you're unhappy with how we handle your data
Artist and label accounts
If you run a workspace on Sequence (through the web dashboard, the Sequence for Artists iOS app or the Sequence app for Mac), we also collect:
- Your name and email, and a password (stored only as a salted hash) or your Google or Spotify sign-in identity
- Workspace details you choose to add, such as your business name, postal address and ABN, which appear in the footer of the emails you send (a Spam Act 2003 requirement)
- A connection to your own Stripe account for ticket and merch payouts (we never see your banking details; Stripe holds them)
- A connection to your own Meta ad account, if you make one
- The fan information you import or collect through your forms, shows and sales
- A record of how you use Sequence itself — which screens you open, which steps you finish, and where you stop
We use this to run your workspace: processing your sales, sending your campaigns, and showing you your own audience. Your fan list belongs to you. We hold it on your behalf and we are each responsible for it under the Privacy Act: we keep it secure and never use it for our own marketing or sell it, and you are responsible for having consent for the people on it and for what you send them. You can export it at any time.
Your Meta ad account. If you connect your Meta ad account, we keep the access Meta gives us, encrypted, and use it only for these things. To show you what your ads did, we read every hour each ad's spend, impressions, clicks and results by day and by hour (up to a year back the first time), its name and the names of its campaign and ad set, where it sends people, its preview link, the clips, pictures and words it runs, and where each ad set is aimed. We also read whether your Meta pixel is receiving events from your pages. If you sync a segment of your fans, we create a Custom Audience from it in the ad account you chose, keep it up to date about every six hours, and make a lookalike audience from it if you ask. We never create, change, pause or delete your campaigns, ad sets, ads or budgets, and we never see your billing details. For audiences, only the person who connected the ad account with Facebook can change which one is used or disconnect it. If it was connected by pasting a token, anyone on the page who manages integrations can. Disconnecting deletes the stored access straight away. Disconnect on a segment's Meta ads audience panel stops syncing audiences (and reading your ad figures, if you connected there by pasting a token). Disconnect under Settings, Ads stops reading your ad figures. If you connected in both places, disconnect in both to stop everything. The ad figures already read stay in your workspace as its history until you delete the workspace, or ask us at support@road-noise.com and we will delete them. Audiences we made stay in your ad account, where you can delete them in Ads Manager. You can also remove Sequence Sync from your Facebook account under Settings and privacy, Settings, Business integrations, which ends its access from Meta's side.
Your YouTube channel. If you connect YouTube to post Shorts from the Social calendar, Sequence uses YouTube API Services. Google asks you to allow two things: uploading videos to your channel, and reading your channel's details. We read your channel's id, name and handle, and keep them with the access Google gives us, which is encrypted. We use that access only to upload the videos you post or schedule from the calendar, with the caption, who can see it and whether it is made for kids as you set them, and to read your channel's name again at least every 30 days. For each video we keep its YouTube id and link, so the calendar can show where it went. The video goes from your own cloud storage to YouTube and we keep no copy. Nothing we read from YouTube is shared with anyone else or used for advertising. Disconnect on the Social page deletes the stored access straight away and asks Google to withdraw it. You can also remove Sequence's access at any time in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have the channel details or video records we hold deleted, email support@road-noise.com and we will delete them within 7 days. Deleting what Sequence keeps does not delete anything on YouTube; to remove a video there, delete it in YouTube. Google's handling of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
We also keep a record of how you use Sequence, so we can troubleshoot the app and find bugs before they interrupt your work. It covers which screens you open and where you stop. It holds no fan names or email addresses, and it never records what you type. We use it to improve Sequence and nothing else: it is never sold, never shared for anyone else's marketing, and never added to your fan list. We use no third-party analytics inside your workspace, so none of it leaves our own servers. We keep it for 12 months. If you'd rather we didn't record it, email us and we'll turn it off for your workspace.
The Sequence app for Mac shows the same dashboard and records the same usage information, and nothing more. It keeps your sign-in in your Mac's Keychain and checks sequence.team for updates every six hours, sending only the version it is running.
You can delete your account at any time, in the iOS app under More, Account, Delete account, or from Settings on the web. Deleting removes your sign-in and any workspace where you are the last owner. Audit records we are required to keep are anonymised.
The iOS app
The Sequence for Artists app uses your device's camera only to scan tickets at the door, and Face ID only to unlock the app if you turn the app lock on (that check never leaves your device). Location and Bluetooth permissions are used only where a feature requires them, such as contactless payment acceptance. The app records the same usage information as the web dashboard, described above, and nothing more. It uses no third-party analytics or advertising software, and nothing it records leaves our own servers.
Security
We use HTTPS in transit, encrypt third-party access tokens at rest with AES-256-GCM, and rate-limit our public endpoints. Card details are processed by Stripe — we never see them.
Cookies and tracking
Our public pages may load a Meta Pixel that fires anonymous and pseudonymous events (page views, ticket views, taps on a release's links and purchases) for advertising attribution. If you allow it, the artist's Meta pixel also uses your visit to show their ads to you and to people like you. We send the same events server-side via Meta's Conversions API with your email hashed (SHA-256) before transmission. You can opt out of Meta's ad personalization in your Facebook account settings.
Where a record label an artist works with owns a release, or sells one of its own items from the artist's store, that page also reports the views, clicks and purchases for that release or item to the label's Meta Pixel, in the same way and under the same consent. If the artist has agreed, the label's pixel also receives the views and link taps on all of that artist's release pages. The label's copy of a release page event carries no email address.
Sequence's own home page at sequence.team, and its other sign-up pages, can load Road Noise's own Meta Pixel, to measure Road Noise's ads for Sequence, under the same consent as above. When you create a Sequence account, we tell Meta that a sign-up happened, with your email hashed (SHA-256) before it is sent. When a workspace first pays for Membership, we tell Meta that too, with the amount. Nothing else about how you use Sequence is sent to Meta.
If you visit from the EU, EEA or UK, we ask for your consent before loading these advertising cookies, and hold the pixel until you accept. You can change your choice at any time: .
